Dr. Joe Hooper and Trey Isenhower, Longtime La Quinta homeowners, knew it was time to “rightsize” as Dr. Joe Hooper, Spiritual Director at the Center for Spiritual Living in Palm Desert, calls it when their daughter went off to college last fall.

6 Ways to Get Your Palm Springs Home Ready for Summer

1. Program your thermostat- The Department of Energy recommends setting your thermostat to 78º while you are at home and raising the temperature several degrees higher (83º-85º) while you are away. This will ensure that you are not wasting energy when you are not at home.

2. Maintain your cooling system – Air conditioning is an essential appliance in any Greater Palm Springs home. Contact your local HVAC professional for an annual inspection. The Rilington Group “5K Trifecta” Focuses on Corporate Wellness as Core Company Value

The Rilington Group recently organized and sponsored company teams for three Palm Springs 5K events in the first quarter of 2015. Employees and families of both the Rilington Group and its new home community, Vallera Palm Springs, had at least 6 participants at each of the 5K events. These included the Mayor’s Healthy Planet, Healthy You 5K Race and Wellness Festival in January, the 2015 Palm Springs 5K in February and the recent Running Wild for Hope 5K.

This “5K Trifecta”, now an annual company event, is the cornerstone of the company’s commitment to supporting the health and wellness of employees. “We are so proud of our team members and their families who joined us in at least one if not all three of the 5K events,” notes Erin Eslinger, the company’s Director of Marketing. “I know we are all so thankful to work for a company that encourages our personal wellness and promotes fun team building,” Eslinger adds.
